MindSpace begin new chapter in new premises

Source: MindSpace Stamford Facebook page

Regular activities resume at MindSpace in Stamford today after a week of moving from Broad Street to their new home at 6 Red Lion Street.

The charity which supports mental health and well-being in the town, needed to find a new home as the Corn Exchange expands. This Friday the Mayor of Stamford is leading two runs which both ends at the new hub, the MindSpace 5K from the rugby club in the morning.at 9:30 and the Mayors Mile, which leaves the Town Hall steps at 5:30 in the evening. Councillor Amanda Wheeler is raising money for MindSpace as part of World Mental Health Day and also with the organisation being one of her mayoral charities this year.

‘Yeah, it's been a really interesting development because I only really started running in January this year and I thought I'd just do 5K three times a week and it's grown and grown and grown and I'm actually starting to quite like it. One of my charities this year is MindSpace and I wanted to do something for World Mental Health Day and it's actually two days before my first ever half marathon, which I'm running for Great Ormond St Hospital in London. So we are doing two special runs on Friday and the first one is at 9:30am starting at Stamford Rugby Club, that's a 5K and then the second one is a specially designed route, the Mayors Mile leaving at 5:30pm from Stamford Town Hall Terrace. Both runs will finish at MindSpace’s new hub which is opening this week and there will be refreshments and a chance to chat. So everyone is welcome to come down. You don't have to be a fast runner, you could be a first time runner, you could even come along and walk if you want to, but you could see people there. If you go onto the MindSpace socials you can sign up because it would be helpful to know how many people to expect in terms of catering’.
