Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene today of 500 tonnes of recycling waste that set on fire yesterday afternoon at Gretton Brook Road in Corby.
At its height, 10 fire engines, including Stamford and two aerial appliances, were tackling the blaze, and four fire engines and an aerial platform remain there.
Today, the plume of smoke from the fire could be seen from large parts of Rutland and Stamford, and the smell of smoke is in the air across much of our area.
