Pest controllers across Rutland and Stamford are reporting one of the worst summers for wasps nests.
Shaun Muller says Oakham Pest Control has treated over 100 already and the insects are sweet feeding, something that normally do in September, which means they're becoming more of a pest. Shaun thinks a combination of the mild winter and hot summer has led to it.
‘They are sweet feeding early. I've been speaking to a lot of people who have been in the business a lot longer than me. They claim that we haven't seen a summer like it in a very long time’.
