Police believe the robbery at Stamford's Vodafone store less than two weeks ago was part of a wider crime wave that affected parts of London and as far as Hampshire.
10 people have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery as part of an investigation into a series of thefts at mobile phone shops, including one in Stamford. They were arrested by Met police officers after connecting 13 similar incidents in London, the Southeast and southern England, where suspects stole thousands of pounds worth of new phones from secure store rooms at High Street phone stores. The incident in Stamford happened on Friday, lunchtime the 13th of June. Last Thursday, eight men aged between 20 and 31 and two 17-year-old boys were arrested at addresses in London and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
