There's still time to enter this year's Stamford Raft Race.
It's next Saturday on The Meadows as part of the Kiwanis Big Day Out and includes live music, a tug of war and lots of family activities. All money raised benefits the Stamford community. Steve Marsh from the club is hoping more entrants come forward over the next few days.
"Talking to the Deepings guys who've run the raft race for more years than we have, they say you do get a lot of entries late on, and actually we're hoping that. Quite a few of the entries into the Deepings Raft Race, particularly the newer ones, might come along to ours for a shakedown trial. So a shorter run, proof of concept that your raft will run, and you know that you're going to be okay for the big one at the Deepings. But we work closely with those guys. They've been very helpful."
