A primary school in Stamford is celebrating its latest Ofsted which took it from Requires improvement to Good overall with Outstanding in early years.
St Augustine's has also established a network of early years providers in the town to share best practice and help level the playing field when it comes to transition. Head teacher Tina Cox says they've seen significant changes since she took over four years ago.
"The school had had a previous Requires improvement inspection and we were inspected quite quickly after I started and we were graded Good in four of the five areas, but because of the one Requires improvement grade, the whole school one word judgment again became Requires improvement. Ofsted were a little behind post COVID, so we've waited a long time for reinspection. We've done an awful lot of work and we're delighted to have received Good in four areas. And the cherry on the top was the Outstanding grade for early years, which Miss Darby's worked just so hard on improving. It's been an entire turnaround for the early years department, and we couldn't be more delighted."
