Moves to bring the Rutland Sea Dragon home could mean Rutland County Council's offices transfer to the Oakham Enterprise Park and Catmos House becomes a civic and cultural centre.
The Cabinet will hear more next week about how the Council plans to transfer ownership of Britain's largest ichthyosaur, which was discovered in a lagoon at Rutland Water to themselves from Anglian Water and how the existing museum building could be modernised whilst retaining its heritage, partly through grant funding and levelling up money. It may also mean the Registry Office finds a new home away from Catmos Cottage which is next door. The Cabinet meet on Tuesday and the budget for the year ahead for the Council is also expected to be agreed.
