A project to help reduce social isolation in South Rutland villages launches this morning.
The Barrowden Friendship Club is being held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month from today at the village's Community Hub between 10:30am and midday. Lottery funded Changing Connections Rutland project is behind the initiative and they hope it's a chance for people to meet new friends and connect with the local community, as Ruth Taylor from the Rural Community Council explains.
‘Yes, so it will be from 10:30am-12:00pm. It's completely free for the first few sessions, just to get it all up and running. You just pop in. You can stay for five minutes or you can stay for the whole thing. But we just really love to see as many people as possible turn out to support the community'.
