Rutland County Council is investing nearly a million pounds in the county's libraries thanks to funds from the Arts Council and the UK Skills Funding Grant.
All four buildings in Oakham, Uppingham, Ketton and Ryhall will be refurbished and community hubs will be created within them. Alongside the existing library services, access to advice and information will be improved, including health and well-being activities, adult learning and practical sports and social activities for all ages.
The council is currently tendering for the work, which is expected to start shortly and be completed this year.
