Rutland police arrested a suspected drink driver after his car destroyed several large road signs on the A1 near Tinwell at around midnight.
The driver suffered only minor injuries but was taken to Peterborough Hospital by ambulance after being checked over by the fire service before they arrived. The man was arrested for failing to complete a roadside breath test and taken to custody in Leicester. He's also being investigated for driving without a licence or insurance and for immigration offences.
