Traditions continue across the Rutland and Stamford area today.

This morning, Caldecote's long running Pancake Race features a men's, women's and children's race too, as it's half term, plus a tossing competition in the village hall as part of their coffee morning and prize giving event. The winners are presented with a trophy. Those in last place get a lemon.

Meanwhile, at Uffington Village Hall, the traditional village all you can eat pancake event is due this afternoon from around 4:00 PM.

Last Saturday, the long running pancake morning took place at Ketton Methodist Church, which this year raised funds for Christian Aid. Jeff and Elizabeth who led the cooking gave Rob some top tips.

"Oil in the pan's got to be very, very hot when you put the butter in and then just keep looking and observe. Otherwise you'll have a crispy pancake.""

[Rob] "You've raised money for so many different organisations over the years, haven't you?"

"We have. Trying to do a different charity every year. We've homed in on Christian Aid this year. Last year it was Sue Ryder. Year before that it was the Children's Air Ambulance. Anybody with suggestions to what we raise the money for, we'll always listen."
