Oakham Castle will close to visitors from this Monday for nearly a month for essential repairs and maintenance.
The UK Shared Prosperity Fund has paid for the work, supported by the Friends of the Museum. The cafe will also close for the first week of work, reopening on the 30th of September. The castle closure is expected from the 22nd of September until the 16th of October. The castle grounds will remain open throughout, although there will be no access for vehicles, including parking. This Sunday’s Rutland Food, Drink and Pet Festival will still take place partly in the castle grounds.
