The volunteers at Stamford-in-Bloom are raising funds to transform a neglected area of Stamford into something altogether more beautiful and befitting one of the town’s main thoroughfares.
Many people have driven, cycled or walked past the grass verge in front of Brownlow Terrace off Wharf Road and thought, “What a mess!” For most of last year, the area became an unofficial park for vehicles during the refurbishment of the nearby flats, which resulted in a quagmire. The untidy array of A-boards and a wonky disused post box only added to sense of disorder.
No more! Stamford-in-Bloom has taken this project under its wing. Floral hedging, blossom trees and seasonal bulbs will add a splash of colour and pride.
