Rutland's neighbourhood inspector says new PCs for the towns bring a wealth of experience.
PC George Pears starts soon in Uppingham and PC Mari-Louise Hughes in Oakham and Barleythorpe. PC Rebecca Angel, who covered both roles at different times over her beats in Rutland, takes up a new role in Melton.
Inspector Darren Richardson believes both new beat officers will be great additions to the county.
"I've now managed to fill the post for the Uppingham beat officer which will be PC George Pears who will be starting in the next couple of weeks. George is a really proactive officer and it's going to really add some quality and value to the team. So I'm looking forward to that happening.
And then also PC Mari Hughes, who is going to be our Oakham beat officer. Again, she's an officer full of experience. She's a detective as well as previously being a beat officer and a response officer. So a whole lot of experience that's really going to benefit the communities of Rutland."
