Rutland County Council is moving to a new system for green bin registration and is delaying applications for the next financial year.
The window to apply will open on 31 March and stickers won't be sent out for bins this time as technology on the new vehicles will validate whether a bin subscription is up to date. Anyone planning to continue to use the scheme will have their bin collected throughout April without disruption. And anyone new to the Green Bin collection can sign up from 31 March too. The cost for the scheme is £60 per bin, with a 25% saving for households who have council tax reduction. Collection is once a fortnight, but less during the winter months.
