As GCSE students across Rutland and Stamford reflect on their results, they look to their next steps.
The principal of Uppingham Community College says he's proud of the support his staff offer students to make the right choice for them. Ben Solly says it's all about individual pathways.
‘Yeah, because of our location, our students go in many different directions. Lots live in Northamptonshire and some Leicestershire as well, so there are so many options for them to take for post 16 education. A lot do go to Harington, but a lot going to Stamford College and there's so many different places that they access. I guess one of the things that we're really proud of is the advice and guidance that we provide for students from a career perspective that gives them so many different options for when they leave school. They can really find and tailor their programmes to suit their particular interests and what they want to go on and achieve with the rest of their lives’.
