Ahead of a special council meeting on Tuesday night, Rutland County Councillors are appealing to residents to tell them your opinions on local government reorganisation.
Whitehall is planning large unitary authorities, which is likely to see Rutland merge with parts of Leicestershire. Each Councillor has a chance to speak, and there's also space for residents to provide deputations too.
Deputy Chair of Rutland County Council, Sam Harvey, spoke at the Victoria Hall meeting on Monday, and says residents have been largely quiet on the subject so far, despite it being the biggest change in more than a generation.
"I feel really passionate because I'm born and bred Rutlander for many generations and so obviously I do have a personal view. But next week I have five minutes in the council to say what residents want. I don't want to say what I want, I really want to say what residents want. It's the only time your views will be able to be discussed on this currently. I would really welcome emails into my inbox. I'm sure that my 26 colleagues would equally love to have some emails about your views and we really want to put your view across because it's really important."
