Hundreds of dogs and their owners from across the country at the Rutland Showground for the annual Empingham Agility show this weekend,
their 10th at the venue off the Oakham Bypass. There are seven rings with around 8,000 dog runs over the three day event until tomorrow. Show manager David Thomson says it's a serious and fun event for dogs of many different breeds.
‘Part of the Kennel Club. This is a Kennel Club event and people can do either or all. So there will be some people that will come along. I mean there's some classes that are specifically designed for dogs that are very new or dogs that are reaching almost retirement. We also we have a what’s called ABC stakes qualifier. ABCs, anything but Collies. So we have got that and it will lead on towards Crufts. We also we have grades one all the way through to grade 7. Obviously ones are newbies and sevens are people that could have been doing it for anything up to 15-20 years.’
