Devolution in greater Lincolnshire shouldn't be held up by the fact it's already better placed to progress it,
say the leaders of Lincolnshire County, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire councils. The Government appealed to areas that would need more reorganisation to be part of the first phase, such as Leicestershire and Rutland. The leader of Lincolnshire County Council Martin Hill says the greater Lincolnshire devolution deal Is already confirmed with a combined county authority. A number of councillors have spoken out against the leader, saying he's called for May's elections to be cancelled. He says that's a Government decision but may be sensible if they're being reorganised to postpone them. Although he says elections are an important part of how councils are run.
