Police in Rutland and Leicestershire say unsafe and dangerous driving won't be tolerated.
Today they launched an operation cracking down on several offences as DI Steve Kilsby from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit explains.
‘Between the 1st of December and 1st January across Leicestershire and Rutland which is where policing operations target road harm and this can be anything from unsocial driving right through to problem hotspots that the community talks about such as people racing their cars, for example, and would include drink driving, drug driving and for offences such as speeding. We really try to cut down on it just so that people can see that we are taking it seriously. We will deal robustly with people who choose to get behind the wheel driving in an unsafe manner or driving inconsiderately.’
