The start of Armed Forces Week in Rutland is being marked today with a flag raising and short ceremony at Oakham Castle at 10.30.
The Lord Lieutenant, Chairman of Rutland County Council and the Armed Forces Champion will be there. An extra Armed Forces Breakfast is being held at the Grainstore on Saturday and a county service parade and party in the park at Cutts Close on Sunday. The events are also commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE and VJ Day.
