The traffic lights at the Broad Street pedestrian crossing in Stamford are being replaced. Work began today and is due to complete by 21 May, according to Lincolnshire County Council.
Broad Street is already a busy thoroughfare at peak times, however while the work to replace the traffic lights is being carried out, drivers can expect additional congestion and delays. A three-way temporary traffic light system is in place, however the road has been reduced to a single lane through the works which is exacerbating the impact of vehicles manoeuvring to park along it. During peak times drivers may want to consider avoiding the Broad Street area altogether and parking a little further away to help reduce traffic load.
