The mayor of Bourne is taking part in a Sunrise to Sunset Walk today to raise money for two charities close to his heart.
Colin Pattison set off from the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance headquarters near Lincoln at 7:00am and along with Don't Lose Hope’s, Dom Brister, is hoping to reach Bourne by 7:00pm tonight. Dom says the two charities are ones the mayor has had direct experience of.
‘Yeah so ultimately what happened with Colin was a fatal road traffic accident a while ago. He was cut out of the vehicle and taken off in the air ambulance and he always said that someday he'd like to do something to you know, repay the favour as it were, and he's quite open about his struggles with his mental health. He was actually on one of my mental health first aid courses and was quite sort of open about sharing his struggles. And so, yeah, when he said he wanted to do a walk, he wanted to do it for both charities’.
