It's hoped every community in Rutland will be represented today as the county marks 80 years since VE and VJ Day as part of Armed Forces Week.
There's a series of events in Oakham today. Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, Dr Sarah Furness will be there throughout.
"Yes, the parade starts from 10 o'clock from Oakham Castle. I will be standing in the High Street, which will be lovely and see them all. Then we're going on to All Saints Church where we're having a service, and then at Cutts Close, there's going to be a really big, lovely party in the park. It's going to be hot. There's going to be masses of food, drink, all sorts of things, funfair, there's something for everybody and lots of live music and live dancing. The Morris Men will be there, which should be really good fun. And that's what we want. We want to recapture that feeling at the end of the Second World War of celebration and celebrate together."
