Step inside one of Stamford’s most beautiful historic buildings and uncover the stories hidden behind its grand Georgian façade.

Our free guided tours explore the role the Town Hall has played in Stamford’s rich and fascinating history.

The beautiful Grade II* listed building on St Mary’s Hill is home to a surviving Georgian gaol, famous paintings, magnificent silver regalia and a historic Courtroom, among many other incredible features.

Tours are free to attend, but donations are warmly welcomed to support the care of Stamford’s historic collections and the development of a future town museum. Please note, the gaol areas include low lighting, uneven stone floors, and level changes so sensible footwear is recommended.
